getting that bottom strut bolt in was the hardest part for me too
not fun - the strut bottom has to go UP and INWARD - which is super tough

finally got it after jacking JUST the strut bottom upward into position with a narrow spacer
so the jack wouldn't foul against the control arm

maybe the control arm had to go up a little bit also

SO tight - many swear words later I got the holes lined up enough to bang the bolt thru
just keep at it - unless there's a trick someone else knows

i am reading elsewhere that jacking up the other side should relieve some of the tension.

When I did mine, I had both sides jacked up and didn’t have an issue with the control arm not being low enough. I made the same mistake and bolted my first side at the top before inserting the bottom bolt. I actually had to jack up the control arm to line up and get the bolt in. So I would definitely try jacking up the other side just in case it helps. The other thing I did was fully deaired the system using the gap tool. I didn’t just release pressure at the air line. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

other than that I followed Dakota Traveler’s advice as closely as possible.

I did it! No problem after jacking up the left side. It evened right out. Everything is on and it’s set at the right height for me to torque. Just gotta get a torque wrench that can handle 300nm on that bottom nut. One side down and I hope it solves the main problem!
