Intermittent staring problems LR3
I have a 2008 LR3 with intermittent staring problems, i have read many similar threads without a sound outcome.
runs perfect (when it starts), starts on 90% of occasions and when it doesn’t start you leave it for 30 mins it will start, or if you give the car a good shake!!
turns over and clicks on occasions, very frustrating as its time to sell it for an LR4 however cannot sell in this state.
Garage cannot find fault, even when plugged in, says i should wait till it goes fully, this is almost 6 months now with the same issue and doesn’t seem to get worse or better!
i know people have had similar issues, even a guy posting a video of you tube with the exact same problem, has anyone come to a sound solution to fix this?
Cheers

If you search for threads on this topic, you'll find every possible variable that can cause the no-start.
The basics that should be followed by any diagnostic person:
1. Check Battery
2. Check voltage and wiring to starter
3. Is Starter still good?
4. Check for corrosion on transmission computer's connectors on firewall
5. Check for water ingress on passenger floor which can corrode wiring connectors
Those are the typical causes for no-start. It's not an exhaustive list, but odds are you'll catch it in that list. Don't just throw a battery at it, diagnose the problem, is my best suggestion and read through every other post out there.
