Default Just To Make Sure

I am going to order in and do a complete rebuild of my compressor and was wanting some additional work done at my buddies shop while the compressors at home. Question is, can he still yard drive the truck with the compressor removed if I pull the appropriate fuse? Even if it's up in the air, hanging the wheels, when it's down again, will it still be fine to drive out of the garage?

Going to get the air tank replaced at the same time as there was already one hole that needed to be brazed when I first got the truck so it doesn't make sense to rebuild the compressor without addressing the seedy tank.

Thanx in advance...
