Good Evening,

I went to start my Landrover discover 3 this evening and I turned the key and I got absolutely nothing, no lights on the dashboard, no engine response, nothing. I put the jump leads on and still nothing, the battery is secure and clean. does anybody have any ideas?

 

Troubleshooting 101.

Put test light or voltmeter on battery terminals. Good?
Move ground lead of meter to engine mount bolt. Good?
Move ground lead of meter to frame. Good?
Your battery and grounding is good..

Move positive meter lead to starter solenoid terminal. Good?
Move positive meter lead to ignition lug on starter solenoid and have someone bump starter with key (transmission in neutral, please). Good?
Your ignition switch and starter are good.

Petrol or diesel?
If diesel, it should want to start.
If petrol, move to coil and distributor.

Give us an update and better level of detail than your previous post and we can go from here.

 

So when you put the jump leads on, no interior lights even?
