My LRD2 has a starting issue. Key turns; there is power, engine begins to turn, then stops turning, starts turning, stops turning at 1 second intervals. As it tries to turn, dash lights come on. then off, then on. It did this once before, and after a short wait, it engaged. Now it wont start. any ideas? I tried boosting to no effect

Crank position sensor?

 

Shorted cell in the battery? With a shorted cell, jumping doesn't really help. Try switching out the whole battery.
