Question A little maintenance advice

My 2007 LR3 4.4 has 106,000 miles on it. I need to change the belts and while I am in there I am going to change the cooling hoses and water pump as well. I also have new plugs that I will install. Does anyone have any recommendations for parts to inspect/change out while I have all of this apart? Belt tensioners seem good but I will look at them more closely while the fan and belts are off.

Thanks,
Eric

I have the stuff coming to revamp the belt system. I am not changing tensioners, but I am changing the tensioner pulleys. I am also changing the idler pulley. They are inexpensive and easy to do. And at 100k they will be a bit worn. If you decide on a new idler pulley, go aftermarket. The ones with ribs on them are updated but for the LR3 they seem to interfere in some way and one must ground off the plastic ribs. Aftermarket ones are usually metal and need no modification.

That is a good idea. I might as well replace those while I am in there. Where do you recommend sourcing the idler pulley from?

Only thing I'd suggest is that you update the pulley for the primary serpentine belt, per the TSB that came out a decade ago. They added a lip to it to prevent belt slip.

^ That updated one is what I am talking about when it comes to fins. They need to be ground off if one uses that one.
