Has anyone used Ravenol MDL for their rear locking differential fluid? It says it meets Land Rover LR019727 specifications and is less than half the price of the LR fluid (Castrol BOT 720).


I have to say I'm not sure what a "clutch-type Lamella limited slip differential" is.

It's not like there is a ton of fluid in there anyway... might as well get the good stuff or at least a known name brand like Royal Purple.

 

yep....it's a Land Rover. Don't dick around....and then curse it later.

 

If you want to save some money, the GM (ACDelco) 92184900 is supposed to be the same Castrol SAF Carbon Mod fluid that our locking diff uses. I would definitely go with that over Ravenol.

 

How important is replacing all the plugs on the diffs/tc with new? Not necessary?

 

No it's not necessary to change the plugs. I have changed mine atleast every year, and have never changed the plugs.
