Default Long time listener, first time caller...

Hey all! Lurking for many years and researched various issues, but finally registered. I知 moderately active on various German car forums but this is my first with Land Rover.

Have had my LR3 for like 8 years... love it like the first day I bought it. It痴 pulled domestic duties for the last 4 years with very little off pavement action. I知 getting a RR I think for family duties and now this will become a full time adventure vehicle! I知 intending to build to a medium duty overlander. Roof rack, roof tent, drawers out the back... maybe even a hitch mount chuck box.

Just put new wheels and tires on this weekend as Phase 1 for off pavement action! Next up is new air struts up front... had an Indy diagnose my air suspension issue with replacement of the pump and they didn稚 want to consider the struts although I did the 48hr trouble shoot and it was the fronts that continue to drop so I知 gonna just do it my self.

Edit: forgot some critical info. I知 in Atlanta and this is a 2006 SE V8. Pretty much all has been combed over through the years (new front diff, control arms, etc).

RR HSE 19s. Got a smoking deal on them. I was going to stay 18s (which prob would be better for wheeling) but like the slight lower sidewall look.

the 19's are not really ideal for off roading, 18's are better. They do look good though

Default The answer...

...is BOTH! I have snow tires on my 19s and big ol' meats on my 18s. 😎

Yeah I know 18s are better... I think I値l get beefier meats that may need the lift rods on the 18s I have.

anyhoo... I already appreciate the info and look forward to the community and maybe, hopefully I can contribute something someday! I am an avid DIYer and love fabricating / engineering so maybe there will be something I can put up on the board!
