LR 3 Tires
Hello all:
I am a new LR3 owner having recently acquired a 2006 HSE in Java Black/tan interior. Looks like it has most every option except the HD package. I have seen various posts regarding the LR3 capability offroad and am curious how this rig will stack up to my recently departed 97 Defender 90.
Also curious if anyone has any experience with the Goodyear Wrangler MTRs in 255/55/19. I know the consensus is to swap out for 18" wheels and open up a plethora of options; but am also curious as to what is the best 19" tire for offroading available. Currently the truck is outfitted with new-ish Michelin Synchrones.
Thanks for any feedback you guys can provide. Great forum btw, just now digging in deep when I have a few free moments.
Cheers
Bob

What mods did you have done to the d90?
If it was stock w/o the lockers the LR3 will actually feel more capable due to the traction control devices. I have out performed stock d90 with bfg ats and I had all season street tires. so with the mtr and if you have the 19" rims Id drop the 350 a piece for them and not look back.

Anybody running the MTRs in either 18" or 19"? I anticipate driving the LR from MO to Colorado this summer and am concerned about lots of road noise. If the Synchrone's are a 100 on the noise scale, what can I expect from the MTR's, 110, 150?
Thanks again to all for your assistance
