My LR3 with about 12,000 miles just started to make a low squek/groan noise at low speed or even when stopped in drive. So far it drives and runs fine. Any thoughts?

 

Does the sound change as you turn the steering wheel? Maybe the power steering pump, not likely to be anything harmful.

 

Try NEUTRAL and REV the engine. That will eliminate the posibility of engine problem

 

kelly 7777 how did you stop the noise. I started hearing same noise even after changing my break pads. very annoying noise from the rear when you slow down . sometimes it disappears and you wont hear it all

 

You are in warranty, go see your dealer.

 

Kelley7777 , If you have the Jag V8 have your dealer check your Idler pulley anddrive belt. LR came out with a new pulley and their isa bulliten on how to modify the bracket for nessary clearance, its a VIN specific Modification so they will need to check to see if it applies to your car.
