LR3 4.0 Radiator "steam" hose to intake manifold.
Greetings,
Scoured the threads and found nothing so my apologies if this has been addressed.
'06 V6 4.0. Replacing radiator, hoses, thermostat, and water pump. Received a nice all aluminum radiator, however the outlet for the small diameter hose to the intake isn't present. After following the routing of this hose through the manifold and then eventually dumping into the expansion tank, I was wondering if this was a Cold Weather feature that heated up the intake and throttle body in extreme weather. It's a feature only on the 4.0, and not all 4.0 radiators have the required outlet. So.....can delete this and cap off the engine and expansion tank? I can fab a nipple on the radiator, but I'd rather eliminate a bunch of fail-points in the cooling system by eliminating it. I know there isn't a lot of love for this engine, but I was hoping there was at least one other person who isn't embarrassed to say they run the 4.0 (I'm a Ford person at heart). Thanks!
