Default LR3 AC Compressor V6 verus V8

I have noticed LR will assign different part numbers for the exact same item used across varying models. I am wondering if this is another case of that, sorta...... I need an AC compressor, and in my searches I have found the V8 4.4 LR3 needs LR012593. But then I found LR015151 also, but that seems to be for the 4.0 V6. I ask because I may have sourced a smoking deal on the V6 version, saving me quite a bit. And I like to save money when I can, or I should say I hate wasting money when I dont have to.

To help clarify, here is the official Denso link for the V8 version, part DCP14013:
https://www.denso-am.eu/catalog/part/DCP14013

And for the V6 version, part DCP14012:
https://www.denso-am.eu/catalog/part/DCP14012

They only difference I can see is pulley size. Which make sense. In photos one can even see the V6 version is smaller at 100mm versus 110mm. The castings and bolt mounts are the same, including the rear one. And even the compressor ID is the same.

So I am tossing this out there incase anyone else runs into this. But also I am wondering if anyone has replaced just the pulley portion on one of these? The actual pulley itself is separate on a bearing and the compressor interfaces it via rubber isolators and a break away plate. I am wondering if maybe I can swap my used pulley over or source new.

Any input appreciated. Or maybe I will just get the right one.... (loud sigh)

I think you’re going to have a really difficult time removing the pulley bolt (or shear plate bolt) from the new compressor in order to swap out the pulley. Mine would not come off on either old compressor. I didn’t try it on the new ones. The bearing is pressed into the pulley so if the size difference requires you to reuse your old pulley bearing, you’re gonna have a high-mileage bearing on a new compressor.

I would swap the pulley bearing with the new. Also I found this vid which helps a lot, looks like the shear plate just threads on. That bolt you speak of is not a bolt, its the main compressor shaft. So that is held in place as the plate is broke free. I was digging all over for info, was not expecting a really nice video on the procedure.
