Default Lr3 auto 2008

Hi iv recently just bought a lr3 tdv6 auto and im getting a rattle when letting off the throttle or i can hold it in a spot between 1500rpm and 2000 and you get the constant rattle also not apparent when cold once car is up to temp it starts
Iv noticed when letting off the throttle my revs bounce at 1000rpm making the same noise and can also feel the car jerking like im on the brakes

Being a TDV6 you aren't in North America as they didn't get any diesel variants, a rattle in these engines are usually valve lifters or timing chain tensioners but can also be oil pump as the later upgraded pumps have a larger rotor so build pressure quicker.
What grade oil are you running and is it the correct level, what is your mileage ?

Loanrangie thanks for your reply,im in the uk and my lr3 has 190k on the clock i was thinking more somthing to do with the torque covertor but hoping not. The noise only occurs whilst driving to engine sounds sweet in neutral

Try first surfing on disco3.co.uk, then asking there if you can’t find the answer. That forum is almost exclusively diesels while this one is for petrol heads 😎🤟

Torque converter wont rattle, they will cause shuddering and revs to bounce around when they are starting to fail. If its not coming from the motor then its something loose.
