Default LR3 Bluetooth Solution

I searched many LR forums trying to find an acceptable and reasonably priced bluetooth and music solution (Parrot solutions were nice but just to expensive for this project) for my 05 LR3. I think I finally got it so I figured it other might be looking as well.

The Belkin CarAudio Aux w/ Bluetooth kit
(product page: CarAudio Connect AUX with Bluetooth® | BT Music Receiver | Audio | Entertainment | Products | Belkin USA Site)
I picked it up on amazon.com for $54.

It is a neat, simple and removable install. Cables are long enough to reach the rear aux input and power and small enough to easily hide in the dash trim gaps.

I just put it in last night but im limited usuage its been great. On both iphone and blackberry it will pause music to answer calls and lower music to allow GPS instructs (Tomtom, google maps, and iMaps)

I will update this post if I discover anything else.

Nice. Curious though? When I play through my aux right now, the volume is noticeably lower, as I don't believe it hits the amp through the aux. Do you notice a lower volume that with this solution?

There is a slight sound level difference compared with the radio(maybe 3-4 volume #'s) but it still gets louder than I ever want to play it. I havn't noticed any distortion either.

Good question, as even with my iPhone and volume maxed through the Aux input, it is still not very loud. Thanks for the suggestion, I think I'll try this!

MSD401, Thanks for your post.

I live in Tanzania, and just bought an LR3 2005 TDV6 HSE. facelifted to 2014. Beautiful car. I cant for the life of me figure out if it has Bluetooth or not as I cant discover a connection with my phone?

It has the button (phone and power symbol) on radio, and also has the green and red phone buttons on steering.

There is also an old bury cradle (wired into unit from behind) that i do not know how to work. I will attach pictures when I get my car back from service in next day or so.

Is there any way to get the Bluetooth working in the car or is this external Belkin solution the only way?

thanks,
Ace.
