Having previously owned a RR and dealt with the stuff that comes with LR ownership, we started looking at the DII b/c of the jumpseats. I visited with a local indie where I live and he educated me on the frame rust issues for the DI and DII. He told me to stay away from DI's b/c of the rusty frames and age. Unless it was a woods truck, it would be too old for our family anyway. From there it was DII's and I just had a hard time pony-ing (is that even a word) up the doe for something like a DII when I could get into a more advanced D3 for around the same amount of money. I liked the financial upside and having the equity in the rig from the initial outlay of funds. I like the updated look and creature comforts from the D3. I looked at my wife and told her flat out that we probably won't use half the stuff in the rig but it's nice to know we have it at our disposal if needed.
