Wheel bearing went out and had to replace on the road in Canada. I didn’t know a ton about suspension parts at the time, but the cv half shaft went out right after. I had no idea what I was dealing with. Now I’m very informed. I’ve replaced it all myself, but I had to drive 700 miles to get across the board to seattle before I could do it. I had no idea the head gasket had blown, until a shop informed me when investigating a coolant issue for me. So now I need to do it. I have the technical ability to do it for sure, I used to work on Boeing airplanes and I’ve done a ton with bmws. It only overheated once and I shut the car down promptly. That was after arriving in Seattle. (Move from Alaska).

If anyone has any links or informational videos, that would be cool. Others: please don’t waste my time with dialogue. Thanks!

Great video. It was a match nearly all the way! Thanks again.

Any tips on when the motor is back together and all the pulleys and pumps are back together, are there any parts that need to be charged or bled to ensure proper function after sitting for a year with the motor torn up? I know I need to bleed brakes, but is there anything else I can do that I don't need to take it to a shop to do? The timing is being performed by a head shop for me.

No worries glad to help, basically the same motor with a few changes to the venerable old Jag. Nothing that I can think of for being bled. I would definitely replace old idlers, tensioner, water pump etc while I was in there. Belts to of course but you get the idea I'm sure.
