LR3 Junction Box replace
2006 LR3 HDE 178,000 miles Started having electrical issues about a month ago where by battery was dying every night.
Took to my mechanic replaced the battery and did diagnostic test. Said junction box was damaged probably due to sunroof drains. Said Land Rover no longer sells new junction box's so it can't be fixed. In order to drive it I have to pull 2 fuses
everytime I kill the engine for more than a few hours or the battery will go dead. I asked if we could just buy junction box
from a junk yard and he said that junction box is programmed to VIN. He said we could do that and try and have Land Rover dealership reprogram said it would cost about $1,200 but he couldn't guarantee it would work. I LOVE my Land Rover and I'm
willing to spend the money but I'd like to see if anyone else has had this done successfully? Sorry for such a long post!

I would have a second opinion. Trusting a dealership with the service write up seems always more than required but they are specialized to fix it also. If I’m not wrong, aren’t most electrical parts specified to VIN and still have to be reflashed to make it work in most cases? Seems common, I just don’t see by the dealer was giving you a No. I want to follow this and see your progress.
