Default LR3/LR4 Catalytic Converter Interchangeable?

Long story, due to an oil burning fiasco with the PCV, my LR3 needs at least one or possibly two catalytic converters. They are incredibly expensive from the dealer, so I'm looking for alternatives. I've found Magnaflow converters but I've heard in passing that they may not last as long as OEM. I also can find used 2010-2014 LR4 OEM converters. I know the V8 changed to a 5.0L, but does anyone know if the catalytic converters and O2 sensor locations stayed the same?

Thanks!

A good fabricator could probably make them fit, but they won't be a direct bolt in. Factory converters have to last 8 years or 80,000 miles, so they are very robust. Aftermarket converters only have to meet minimum standards for 2 years. As a result, they contain less precious metals on less substrate which is how they can sell them for so much less. I have found these converters so "minimalistic" that even though they "meet" federal standards, they often still set converter codes.

Thanks, figured it was too easy. And makes sense about the aftermarket units, never considered that and almost went for the Magnaflow version. Guess I have to save up for the OEM unit, replace the passenger side first and cross my fingers that the driver's side is OK for now.

I did put an O2 spacer on the rear O2 and that kept the P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1 code away for a couple months, but now after a long highway trip P2096 Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean Bank 1 and P0137 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 2 have put the CEL back on and they come right back after clearing it. I'm guessing this is probably the O2 spacer doing too good a job backing the O2 out of the exhaust flow, right?

Yes, I have seen the same codes on other LR3s and Sports where people tried that. We took the spacers out and those codes went away (but the P042x codes came back).
