LR3 no turnover - fixed
On the second day of my club's 3 day offroad we had an LR3 that wouldn't turn over when we were ready to leave in the morning. Just a click, click from the starter solenoid as if the battery was dead. GAP said battery was 11.7 which is not good. Jump pack had no effect as did jumping from a running car which was strange. Suggested something else was amiss. Tried swapping relays around and also disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes. Finally someone suggested tapping the starter with something so one of the gang crawled under the car with a breaker bar and banged the starter a few times. Car started right up! Now that would be something I'd be trying on a car from the 60's and 70's but not recent production. I guess starters haven't changed much, at least at Land Rover.
