LR3 Rear Air Shock Absorber Boot Dust Cover replacement
I was getting some new Michelin Cross Climate 2s for my LR3 HSE and when the car was on the lift noticed my right rear shock boots is torn. It rides fine but looks like I should probably replace the boot.
Any of you guys know what it takes to put a new boot on?
The photos look a bit more dramatic because the suspension is fully lowered on a lift. In normal position its difficult to see as the darker rubber is inside the shock body.
Left photo is the torn boot vs the other rear boot.

It just slides up from the bottom then clamped on. OEM and aftermarket available. They can even be installed on the fronts, different part though. But in either case you have to pull the bottom strut bolt form the control arm and figure how to slide it up onto there. Deflate the bags and maybe use a jack to compress the strut with the boot already around the jack's neck. Or something like that.

Been there done that myself years ago. Wasn't awful but I remember getting bolts off was a bit of a challenge.
Here's a pretty good thread on it...
