Default LR3 SE Tires

Picked up a really sweet 2005 LR3 SE7 with Navigation for the wife a week ago. Looking to purchase 4 new tires and was wondering if anyone else was running the following?

Michelin LTX M/S2 P265/60R18

I know that the Land Rover dealers are outfitting their CPO vehicles with Pirelli Scorpion Zeros but the 720 UTQG rating on the M/S2 sounds a lot better to me. So far this is the pricing I have found:
$208 ea. @ Discount Tire
$180 Tires Rack + $88 shipping = $202 ea.

Looking for a long lasting quiet ride. We live in San Diego so snow isn't a concern. Let me know what your thoughts are as the Goodyear P255/60R18 on there now are loud and worn.

I had a set of Michelin LTX A/T's on my '96 D1 and they were fantastic! They were great on road and was very pleased with them off-road. I put about 65,000 miles on them prior to getting rid of the truck and they still looked band new. I know it is not the M/S but holy cow, what a great experience with that tire.

I currently have some Cooper Zeon LTZ's on order for the LR3 and can't wait!

Good luck!

If those Michilin LTX tires are anything like the A/T then it is a good selection. 2nd highest rated all-terrain tire (in that size) on TireRack.com

Good Luck!

I just put Cooper LTZ Zeon's (285-60-18) on mine too. They are sweet! I had Nitto Terra Grappler's before which were good too.

I had the LTX M/S on my 99 Suburban (approx. 1200LBS heavier than my DII) for over 75k miles and there was close to 75% tread left. NO hydroplaning and excellent on everything else. In short, an excellent tire if you aren't going off road.
