Default LR3 Slow to re-engage overdrive after acceleration

My 2006 LR3 (w 170,000 miles) is having a transmission issue. Issue is only when transmission is warmed up. It is slow to re-engage overdrive after an uphill acceleration or after passing. Is this from low fluid or do I need to take it for a transmission flush, fill and filter change.

...what is your determination based on? How do you know the shift points aren't normal, I mean?

And you are not in sport mode? (just want to make sure). Is the TC locking? With not much info, I tend to think it would be a solenoid issue. Has the trans ever been serviced?

The shifting is controlled by the engine ECU. It will down shift when there is a load on the engine or delay upshift/lock converter based upon that load. As I kept adding gear and larger high drag items on the roof rack on my 2006, I found that the thing would not lock up at all at 70 mph but did fine at 65-67. Seems the load was reduced just enough to let it lock up. I would often move to manual mode and up shift to get the rpm back down to 2,000 at 70 mph, but now, I just drive slower and let it lock up when it wants.

I did find that new oil change, new air filter and cleaning the throttle body and Mass Air Sensor helped. Resetting the adaptation for the engine and transmission may help.
