Hey guys. I just did a search for this, but can't find anything on it. The short story is that I installed a towing wiring harness from AB. They mention I may need to get my body control module reflashed or something along those lines. Local dealer wants to charge me $350 (2 hours labor) to get it done which seems totally ludicrous. Any experience with this? Is it a true requirement? I don't want to waste money on something I don't need, but also don't want to do way more than the cost to reflash a system in damage to my suspension.

Did nothing to either of mine when I added the wiring. Both did what they were supposed to do. Even added a brake controller no issues using the factory body harness plug in

 

The factory harness only goes from the LH side cubby hole down to the towball area and just plugs into existing connectors so should not be a problem unless the one you are getting does not use the standard connections

 

If you added the wiring and the trailer stuff works, everything is OK. Mine all works (2007 LR3) and nothing was reflashed...

 

Sounds good guys. I thought the body control module would be all confused just based off the context clues from the directions. Thanks for the help
