Default LR3 V8 - water pump replacement

Hello. My LR3 water pump appears to have suddenly died. I think it died because I heard a significant amount of clanking near the front of the engine, heat stopped working and smell hot coolant fluid. If this is the case, is it relatively easy to replace it? I am hands on with cars, but am new to the LR3.

I have never done it on LR3 , but it looks easier than, my sons Passat, at least it is in front of the engine. You will have to drain coolant from a thick lower hose on the radiator, remove the accessory belt, that water pump sit on along with a coolant pump drive pulley{3 bolts} and finally water pump{ 5 bolts}.Removing the viscous fan also helps a lot, since access is limited.Good luck
