LR3 Woes
I bought a 2006 LR3 SE 4.4 V8 170k miles with some minor issues, but had a transmission slip.
First mechanic misdiagnosed a valve body and set me back $2800 (small claims here I come)
Second mechanic (dedicated transmission shop) diagnosed transmission failure.
Cut to replacing with used transmission and picking up yesterday from shop.
Its raining pretty heavy outside on my 100 mile journey home. All is fine and the truck is running perfectly. I get about 30 miles from home and I’m hearing this chime and a very quickly red flash on the dash..happens about 4 times then the flash is blinking the oil light then it goes off then happens again. I pull over. Check oil, little low and past it’s service date by 10 miles. I add some oil and trek on. No oil light.
I get about 5 miles down the road and oil light flashing on and off and check engine light pops on. I pull over. Luckily we had an OBDII reader. I run codes and I get P0026, P0028, P0101 and P0174 - none related to oil. I chevk oil again and totally fine. Drive about 5 miles oil light quickly flashing, almost can’t see it from the blinking and then comes on. I pull over and find the MAF sensor hoses are all messed up. Fix that and clear codes that popped up again. This whole time the oil light stays off after turning off then turning on truck.
I drive home and get about 6 miles and the light quickly flashes on an off then stays on for a mile then goes off then comes on then goes off then stays on.
I get home I down 3 shots and I start to worry.
My question is..after the trans was replaced and due to the rain. Could it be a ground issue or even a rain issue? Truck sounds fine running and no weird smells. Have owned the truck 2 months and can’t fathom this much wrong with it.

I haven’t changed the oil as of yet. I bought from the original owner and had carfax with every oil change performed. Always recommended oil for truck.
Going to pick up oil sensor and change oil and filter today once rain stops.

Car faxes can be faked actually. I mean I use CarFax and add my own services - and I can set any date I want. Assuming though the changes were done properly, then I would second the sensor or some sorta low voltage issue. Or maybe look at some harness damage/loose connection that happened during the swap. So really, you just need to go over it all in fine detail.
Good to know about Carfax, but I did call the center where the truck was taken to verify everything for peace of mind.
I changed the oil today and pulled the sensor off, cleaned and put back. Drove around and got to operating temp. Not a problem one. Must’ve been a fluke that I’ll have to hunt down.

Apparently it was the A Pillar and in a TSB it reads the customer will complain of the oil pressure light illuminating. Got the new kit to fit the pillar and have not had anymore problems.
I do have a weird rattle on a cold start that only lasts a couple of seconds and disappears... this occurred after all this happened. Would this be something related? Runs great and have driven a lot with it doing this.

Rattle at start up suggests timing chain guides and tensioners.
as to it being related? Not sure how your a pillar is linked. Water ingress could be related to a wiring issue, but the rattle tells me you actually have a mechanical problem.

Excuse me for implying the water ingress caused the rattle. I believe it set into motion a chain of events (no pun) that now I have a cold start rattle. I've looked over countless posts in regards to tensioners or VVT solenoids. Seems to be pretty common in even other cars and people just live with it as its not a real problem. Truck runs perfect. I attached the TSB.
