LR4 Question
....I figure the LR3 is close enough.
My cousin is being quoted $3000 to change 4 injectors and 4 spark plugs plus do some "injection service" on her LR4. I think it's a 2011; it has the 5.0.
Is she being rung up?

Approx wholesale costs 4 units:
New Fuel Injectors $400
Fuel Injector seal kit $20
Fuel injector clips $20
Spark Plugs: $50
Labor:
Spark plugs 1 hour
Fuel injectors 1 bank 4.6 hours
Should be $1000-$1400
$200/$300 for induction service/software update.
Its on the high side, but not rape. What is the hourly rate of the shop?

I'm not sure the hourly rate but it's the dealer. My dealer's labor rate is like $150/hr.
Are you saying the $1000-1400 is JUST for the labor? So it's around $2200 total on the high side of the estimate? If so, I can see your point. Still plenty of mark-up.
I didn't realize that the fuel injectors were nearly 5 hours of labor! Yikes.

Heck the aftermarket injectors are $178 a piece on RockAuto for the cheapest they offer. $318 each for the best. OEM I can't even imagine.
Seems like everything on the 5.0 motor is expensive

Labor rates here ar $100-$150 at indy shops. $185 at dealer.
$1000-$1400 was all in without induction service depending on labor rate and mark up. Unfortunately many shops do 100% mark up, so even more in that case.

Being a GDI/direct injection engine the injectors go right into the combustion chamber.
