Default MAF Sensor Wires?

So, went about getting the supplies to clean my MAF and the throttle body. Pulled the MAF first and when I went to spray it with the cleaner, I looked and there were no wires in the tunnel. Not used to a maf with no wires. There was the thicker wire with amber bulb however...
Btw, was successful with cleaning the TB as there was adequate amounts of varnish and oil present. Definitely better idle and throttle response.

The sensing elements are up inside the air chamber. Although some cars can benefit from a MAF cleaning, it is usually frowned upon because if the chemical cleaner makes its way into the electronics, it can damage the sensor. I usually only try and clean them if I'm sure the MAF is toast anyway, never as "preventative maintenance" item.

How much does a MAF Sensor cost and how hard is it to just R&R the thing? Any software updating required for calibration or anything?

Plug and play. 2 torx screws, but you need to be careful to thread the torx screws into the plastic straight as the holes get blown out then you have to replace the air box lid.

No calibration required, but if you are chasing fuel mixture faults, its best practice to have the fuel adaptations reset. If not reset, the fault codes can return until the vehicle had enough time to shift the adaptations on its own.
