Has any one removed the middle muffler box on a V8 D3/LR3 and if so what pipe did you use?

 

I removed the resonator (turtle shell looking one) and replaced it with straight pipe leaving the rest of the exhaust alone. When you get on the gas it sounds like a Jaguar F-Type. When you're just cruising around town it sounds completely normal. Best thing I ever did to my LR3.

 

Where di you get the pipe from?

 

I had a muffler shop just slap on some straight pipes onto where the resonator was. He did two slight bents to make em fit, but it cost me $20.00 and 10 minutes of my friends time.

 

Ha - just posted about doing this today. Its pretty simple and sounds sooooo much better.

 

Yep I delete the resonator on all my D1/D3's and if I ever get another LR3 or RRS that turtle shell resonator is history.
