Hi everyone. I have been eyeing up a 2006 HSE with about 60k on it. One owner, and looks in good shape. This is going to replace the current Disco as the "beater" car, to be used for skiing, mountain biking, kids practices, etc. I love the Disco, but thinking it is time for something a bit newer.
When buying that truck, there was tons of knowledge on what to look for, but I find less on the LR3. I found that with the head gaskets done, and did the rest of the maintence myself. I know the old school Buick design engine of that one inside and out, but the jag power plant in this one I don't know at all.
I will be going to see it this week, so any tips on what to really go over will help. Also, any big preventative stuff that I will need between now and 100k would help too. I'm definitely an ounce of prevention type, especially with these rigs, but looking on how much I should put into it before driving.
Only real note I have on it is that I see it has the factory tow package, so I will assume it has spent its life towing to some extent.
