Hitch and Harness...please help...
I need to get a hitch (not a big deal) but the harness thing has me confused. I suppose that my new to me LR3 doesn't have the harness (there is nothing in the hole next to where the hitch goes).
But here is my issue... I have a trailer that is already wired (as well as my old Jeep that the LR3 is replacing)... the harness is like this:
DISCO3.CO.UK Photo Gallery - NAS Trailer Socket Pin ID and Wire Colours/4 pin NAS flat connector from NAS small trailer
If I get this harness:
Land Rover LR3 Trailer Wiring Kits (Fits Part# YWJ500220) - Land Rover LR3 Parts And Accessories
....I guess I would have to re-wire the trailer? And with what? I don't know what kind of connection to even ask/look for regarding the trailer harness..
Thanks,
Tony

The trailer wiring harness hooks up through a taillight. There's a YouTube I think from Atlantic British for their wiring harness that walks you through the installation. I'll try to find the link and post it. Not that difficult and saves a ton over dealership
I see you found my album re hitches and wiring per below.

The Atlantic British vehicle end you reference should be the same as the Land Rover part and the 7 blade round vehicle end connector will be the same as on all US domestic pickups. This is the Pollak connector per the link below, but may not be what you had on your Jeep.
Pollak Replacement 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector Socket - Vehicle End Pollak Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring PK11893
The other common connector is the 4 round pin flat connector that lacks any provision for electric brakes. That is what I expect you have on your Jeep and trailers. The flat four is included in the genuine LR part and probably as well in the AB "or equal". The order the circuits on the LR four pin is again the same as on all domestic pickups. If you have a different order on your trailer, then change it per my link as that is also what U-Haul uses. The jpg below shows the factory connector end on the rear of the 3 with the weather covers removed and includes both the round 7 blade and the 4 flat round pin connector in a single assembly.
Do not home build your harness however but use either the Atlantic British / BP Utah or genuine. The 3 has enough electrical quirks without adding any more variables.
When all is connected properly, a little green trailer system will flash on the dash when you activate the turn signal or the 4 way flashers. Also the backup sensors will deactivate and air suspension operation will recognize that a trailer is connected. If your trailer has LED' bulbs you will have to make up a LED "override" device per the last three files or change out the LED signal light bulbs to normal LR tungsten.
Regarding the hitch, the Curt has a lot of merit - the genuine LR costs real money, (you want the new design short one, not the plow), and still can be a challenge; the Curt, you install yourself and is easy to understand.

Wow, thanks guys...
A picture is worth a thousand words...I saw that jpeg and didn't even notice the 4 pin connector on the side...this makes me happy. Yes, the trailer doesn't have brakes. It's a small 8 foot landscape trailer that I use to haul trash ans grass clippings, even fully loaded, I can lift it by myself onto the hitch, so it never weighs enough to need brakes...
I will order the hitch and harness today!!!!
Thanks again!
