Like many others, I finally had a minor issue with the parking brake on my 2008.
Anyway to the point, I need the part number and source for the spring that covers the parking brake cable the enters the backing plate. I even looked at the dealership parts sites. I am sure it is there, I am just missing it.
Not sure, but may not be able to re-use this. As for the other parts? I think the small hex nut is about all that is salvageable.
THANKS. See, How did I miss that? I got the other one that had the brake shoes and all the other parts from AB (the picture did not show these parts though), but I did not see this. It is ordered and on its way.
I guess I did not spend enough time under the Rover this week
OK, The parking brake module is out. I now have enough money in the swear jar to buy an adult beverage when this is over. The adjusting screw (the one that only screws in 5 turns) was all the way in. I checked the gears and they looked fine, but the little part does not want to stay connected to the big part.
See my pictures below. Should I be able to just pull them apart by hand?
Will this work just pressed in, or do I need a new module?
I got the parking brake module back in. I made the mistake of not running a wire or cord along the cable before I removed the module, but other after a few tries, I had it where it belongs (I think).
I got the brake shoes installed and adjusted per the manual. which seems to translate to "just tight enough not to move, then back off 10 click (or one full turn).
Anyway, thanks to all that responded and offered encouragement. At last the yellow parking brake light is out.
