Default mushy direction

Hello Guys
MY 05 LR3 had a leaky rack an pinion ,so I changed it and replaced some bushings, and installed new tires, but I now notice steering is kinda of mushy and not tight and precise as before.Any reason this is so?I thought it would improve the feel of the steering, but it is not the case.Thank you in advance for any suggestions that can solve this.

Mushy as in laggy? In lag from the time you turn the wheel until the time the tires start to move?

I agree with SafariSam...

Did you re torque the bolts after you drove it? Might want to also make sure everything is nice and tight.
Keep us posted.
