Default my radio is dead

hi fellows, my radio, basic model, is dead in my LR D3 2008......parked at store, when back and make it run, radio was dead. No obvious electric issue, no fuse, no nada.
indy mech told me tehse radios tend to fail out of nothing....is that right?
any pointers to check myself before go and expend in used options from salvage?
I search forum but no posting regarding a dead radio.....

If everything else works, then more likely a fuse as the basic radio is not generally a failure but there is always the first one. You can remove the radio easily to check things like power etc. You have tried pushing the on/off button.

dead how?

like the screen doesnt light up at all? Or does it light up but you cant change the source/have no volume. The latter is sometimes a symptom of a dying battery on these

Try a hard reset, the CD player in mine died so replaced with an Android double din.
