Default Mystery Connector?

I have a 2005 LR3 SE and in the middle in front of the AC condenser is an unused connector directly behind the grille. Any one know what option that was intended for?

It’s the smog sensor for some Asian countries (at least Japan). It puts the AC to recirculate if triggered.

If the connector is a larger-ish 5 wire then it could be for adaptive cruise control. (this only applies to 2004/5 model years)

Is this what you are talking about? I've had the same question about my 2007 LR3.
