Well, today turned out to be sunny and mild so I did the upgrade just a little while ago. To my surprise the DVD that was inside my nav was from 05... on an 06 model? Go figure. At any rate, I'm sure a LOT has changed in 4 years so it was well due for the upgrade. The driver's seat has to be moved up as high as it will go. I had read other posts that made me think somehow the exchange was done from behind the seat, but it is actually all done from the front. As stated above already, remove the plastic cover located on front of the driver's seat, and yes, it requires a little muscle to remove, don't be afraid to break it, just pull steady at each corner where it is attached to the seat.

I found it easier to move the seat back all the way first to get a better view of what I had to do. It is also easier to reach the "lock-unlock" switch to unlock the dvd. Notice however that the DVD has no room to be ejected with the seat in this position. So, get a good view of where the eject button is and move the seat at least a good 10" forward, just enogh to let the dvd eject with room to maneuver the new one in without scratching the heck out of it, but still be able to reach that stinking eject button. Then just eject the DVD and load the new one as you would any other cd and the software loads itself automatically.

The view changes a little bit and some icons get a fresh upgrade, but otherwise, didn't notice any major changes to the system itself. I will check later if the "hack" still works. I will post back when I do.

OK, so I got a chance to use the updated NAV this afternoon.-> The "hack" is gone<-. Important to keep in mind for those of you that depended on it regularly. I have only used it a few times in the past 2 years so I won't miss it much. Overall, I like the upgrade.
