Pain in the butt, but maybe take a file to the textured perimeter? Of if you're careful a few seconds on a fine grinding wheel.

I just want to make it clear I am not saying Abran is wrong as he has forgotten more than I know about LR3's.

I am kinda **** about lining things up on those before I tighten them down though I admit. I was swapping tires around today on the 07 and checked just to be sure and didn't see any damage but I get what you are saying and see how it would happen if you are using the nut to align the wheels
