Default Which OBDII Tool?

I'm looking to purchase a diagnostic tool as I have had the LR3 now for a few months and it is a matter of time before something happens and I get some strange fault.

I've had a good look around at all the different diagnostic tools that are mentioned in different threads. I appreciate the price ranges considerably, but has anyone ever done a side by side comparison of any. I would like the ability to be able to read and rest codes at the very least, but don't want to be spending $$$$$$$$ on a high end tool like the Faultmate just for the ability to change some sort of setting that in reality is never really going to be an issue most of the time.

I seem to be leaning to wards the GAP too from Lucky8 as its in the middle of the bunch.

Any thoughts or comments are welcome.

Cheers

My only experience is with the GAP tool and I think it's awesome. I recently went from conventional to Blue Tooth and I'm glad I did.

I don't own one (yet?) but everyone and their brother recommends the GAP tool. Was $428 on Lucky8's Black Friday sale last year -- if you're keen to wait for a deal, maybe it'll come back.

Have the gap tool and it is awesome, tons of capability, straightforward menus, and in my mind a good value for what it offers.

Going to call the folks at Lucky8 tomorrow to order the GAP tool and the timing may be right as just this morning I had a slow rise warning on the suspension. I suspect that may be the dryer as from what I know its still the original unit.
