Default Occasional no pickup after stop ?

Two three years ago we had a broken coolant hose..It started when pressing gas to excellerate it would sound like whoooooo almost like exhaling but no pick up power at all. So I didn't push it and had it towed to shoppe. The day after Instead of checking it they drove it,saw no problem..come pick it up.
We again have same problem ..back to shoppe held it for a week only test drove it, nothing wrong, come pick it up.Mentioned to my neighbor he listens to car while pressing gas and says doesn't sound right.Drove it to his mechanic and a hose broken spewing out coolant under engine cover. The other shoppe never even looked it over.
Since then 2-3 years ago I noticed occasionally at a stop light wife presses gas and that same loud whoooosh exhale sound and no pickup. It was over 90 degrees yesterday and happened again.
Most of the time picks up and switches gear normal.
Anyone have experienced this or has any idea what is happening?
Thanks so much for your help again

Sounds like it's running hot and the fans are kicked on.

I wonder if the shop didn't fully bleed air out of the system or didnt fully fill it. It's a pretty big pain in the *** to get it all out.

Check your coolant level.

Run the car with the heat on full blast and get to temp. Open the T bleeder over the throttle body until there's no air coming out. Then do the same with the bleeder on the coolant tank. Top off the tank as it drinks any coolant down.

Then go for a drive and a couple times pull over and open the top of the coolant tank to burp out any remaining air. Again top off any drink down.

SInce that broken hose was changed we had all the hoses changed ..Coolant tank changed..thermostat changed all the stuff involved around including Water Pump Changed..It's had new coolant after those jobs every time.
But I have thought to myself..if there some obstruction not letting coolant to engine cause i get the impression engine seems hot.sometimes.
I also suspect the dash temp guage is not reliable as in all the years we have owned car the guage gets up to temperature and stops at the same spot just under midway never going past that in 14 years.
Also last few years weak to no heat in cabin as heater core needs replacement.I bought all the vent motors and heater core during COVID but some parts took a long time but haven't installed.Mild winter and a little heat comes from two of the vents.
I don't know how this will affect the bleeding of Coolant with heat on full blast not putting out much heat.

For as long as i have driver rovers (29 years) the temp gauge has always sat just under halfway which is the factory normalised position, if it starts moving much past halfway you have a cooling issue.

In this second step ..won't opening the top of the coolant tank to burp out remaing air spurt out coolant ? Advise me please on how I should do it.

nope, it's not high pressure like opening an old radiator.

Just give it a couple turns to loosen it a bit, give it a few seconds then take the cap off. From there you can put in any needed coolant and tighten the cap back up
