Off-road Maintenance Checklist
I’m going to start off-roading at a local off-road park in my 08 (160k miles). I don’t think it’s ever really seen trails in its life. I’ve already changed transmission, rear diff, and trans axle oils. Anything else I should be concerned about? Any weak points that are likely to break?
the off-roading will be pretty basic. No rock crawling or water fording.
my truck is in great shape and has never given me any issues. But it’s never seen any off-road abuse before.

If maintained, you will be fine. I only bring spares when I go on trips covering more than 1,000 miles from home. Things like spare belts, sway bar link (fronts, rears usually are fine), air ride compressor, alternator, water pump and a few little things. Never really needed em so more peace of mind thing. But I also do water crossings and rock crawls hundreds of miles from civilization.
In 30 years and over 3 rovers I've never taken anything more than a spare fan belt, i always go over my vehicle before heading out. And i have never had a flat tire on a trail either, touch wood.
