Ok, trailer lights for real
I have pulled trailers with both LED and filament - both pull fine
either trailer setup should fully illuminate the same regardless - if your wiring gets fixed
the only visual difference on LED trailers is a very faint constant pulse of its lights (very dim, about 1 per sec, barely noticeable), and no "Trailer Icon" on dash when using signals
the advantage to resistors/relays (I think) is to get that Trailer Icon on the dash - which means the LR3 knows and adapts the transmission for pulling
which also happens to eliminate the faint trailer light pulse

Lighting type doesn't make a difference, you will get different results with different LED lights. On my caravan the tail/brake lights would constantly pulse so it looked like i was constantly hitting the brakes and they would flicker side to side as well as the fast indicator flash.
