Sorry... that's what I get for posting from my phone and trying to keep the message short. I meant the part number for the solenoid seals (from Thorgal's post).

I actually did the PCV valve not too long ago on my car and I can say that it is perhaps the easiest PCV valve I have ever replaced. Contrast that with my '04 Range Rover which is, without a doubt, the most complicated piece of sh*t I've ever laid eyes on and took me hours if not a full day to replace the valve and associated hoses. :P

They are not sold separately via LR, the part number is Jag AJ82856 X 2 1 for each side. Be sitting down, so you can fall out of your chair.

Land Rover does not sell solenoid seals separately , you would have to buy entire valve cover , which comes with parameter seal and, solenoid seal , ignition coil seals and associated screws attached to it. Jaguar , on the other hand does sell it separately , but in my neck of the woods still not cheap , over 40 bucks each..

 

Everyone up the chain probably made 40% on it... it probably started at 2.00 which is about what it is worth. At least you can buy it separate from Jag.

I wonder how many other parts could be crossed.. might be worth starting a project on that one.

 

Awesome. Just did the solenoid seals today. Ordered aftermarket ones from Amazon for $9/piece. There were very simple to replace indeed. I just stuck a thin, flathead screwdriver under the lip of each and gently pried up. Then I worked my way around and they came out very easily. Too early to tell whether the new ones are sealing well, but I'll keep my fingers crossed. Thanks!
