Default The perfect battery

I had ordered an odyssey battery from a distributor based on a recordation and although it fit the battery tray, the post was to far inward to work with the 90 degree positive cable.

So then I went with what odyssey recommends for the LR3, but was underwhelmed by the physical size, 48-720.

So after running that one for a year I called them and asked if they had any other suggestions for a battery that might take up the space, they sent the 1350. It fits!

Is that an AGM?

I'm running the DEKA Intimidator right now. Maybe my next one will be the Odyssey.

I thought you had to have a specific charging system for AGM? Or is this myth?

When buying a battery charger, like a trickle charger, you ought to find one that has an "AGM Mode" but as for the LR3's internal electrics, it works just fine with an AGM.

I grabbed an AGM battery at Sams Club for just under 200.00. The battery that came with my 06 LR3 was 90% of the problem when I bought my LR3 (just didn't know it right off the bat). It cranked the LR3 and tested fine, but it killed my alternator, and then caused all kinds of Can Bus faults due to low voltages. Finally took it upon myself to slap a meter on the battery. Running the LR3 was 14.5+, turn off the LR3, and the battery would quickly drop. When it got to 10.9V after just 2min being off = I quickly replaced it. Zero problems since.

It's crazy how power hungry vehicles are now. My 2014 Ram C/V is even worse than my LR3.
