Default A Pillar panel noise

I replaced the clips of my A Pillar cover with the clips from Atlantic British and now I have a terrible wind noise when driving on the highway. Anyone else have this issue?

seems like the top of the cover isn’t secured tight enough and is letting wind get behind it. I can hear a whistling from the inside of the A Pillar when it’s “quieter” and not make the loud fluttering noise.

FYI I replaced the clips while chasing down a water ingress issue.

That’s a common issue. Make sure you’ve fully seated the clips, a firm whack with the palm of your hand may be required.

Thats what I assumed too...gave them a couple good firm whacks. I may take them off and try a different set of clips.

The Atlantic British set came with 2 clips that were different - does it matter which holes these clips are associated with?

I believe the oddball clip goes near the top, but the kit comes with instructions and specifies.

I put the oddball clip at the bottom. Unfortunately my package didn’t come with any instructions. Couldn’t find any information online either in regards to clip placement.

sounds like this might be a user error.

I was wrong, it is the bottom clip which is unique per the LR installation instructions, I confirmed with my manual. My best guess is the clips are not fully seated or your trim has warped slightly (it happens).

It’s got to be warped trim. I’ve hit the pillars pretty hard repeatedly.

Just pull on the trim, if it comes up then it is not seated. They are difficult to fully seat, especially along the bottom half. I have sets of new trim that came with my windshields and really had to whack em - to the point of worrying about breaking my new windshield.

Please refer to this TSB for positioning of clips (and their part numbers) https://disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/...water_leak.pdf

Thanks for the TSB link. Looks like I’ve got the orientation right. Just need to keep pounding on the trim.
