Default Please help me with the p0012 code.

This is the v6 4.0 engine. Timing chain and guide replacement operation. Of course, the camshaft position sensor has also been replaced. It's usually fine, but with a high rpm, the p0012 code works intermittently. But the engine has no tremors, no noise, no power restrictions. It's so frustrating. Please help me.

That P0012 code indicates that the ECU thinks there is something wrong with the camshaft timing, but if it is intermittent I'm not sure what it could be, perhaps wiring frayed or rubbing on something? Hopefully someone else on here has more experience than me and can suggest a better way to check this out...

It's a headache because it only reacts in certain situations, not from the start of the engine. Thank you for your answer

Hello, I have LR2 V6 engine in europe. I had other issues before and now this.
Car runs fine. In land rover shop they told me that its VVT gear that needs to be changed.
From the manual I read that it could be poor oil quality/pressure/low oil. VVT solenoid.

Did you manage to solve it?

Sorry, this is the LR3 forum, IF your engine is the Ford 4.0L Cologne V6, there is NO variable valve timing, just regular chains and tensioners, have a look at https://landroverforums.com/forum/lr...-6-4-0l-52052/ for some more information. Your engine in your LR2 is of course different but any time the chain timing is out is a time that will usually escalate into a blown engine if not fixed soon, the vvt solenoid is I believe much less expensive than trying to replace the gear, but if the oil is really dirty maybe that could be changed first. Perhaps someone more experienced than me can suggest something more relevant to the LR2.. Good luck...
