I have an '05 LR3 HSE occasionally there is a popping noise (a single loud pop) that radiates from the headliner. It seems to occur when going over a speedbump or off camber drainage swail. Basically seems that any flex causes the noise. Has anyone experienced this? HELP!!!!

RE: Popping Noise in headliner
I have an 06 LR3 SE and I have the same noise. I notice it especially when I hit a speed bumb or take an agressive turn. My noise appears to be coming from the roof as you suggest. It sounds as if someone has smacked my roof with a small hammer. At first I thought some SUV hater pelted me with a rock. I too am curious to see if anyone else can confirm its presence or explain its origin.

I've heard reports that the sunshade can cause this type of noise.

try opening the sunroof and hold your hand on the frame to see if you can duplicate the noise, if you can feel it pop then there is problem with the sunroof frame, It may not be secure in its seat or there may be another problem with the frame itself.
