Default Is this possible? Removing the e-diff from the Car Config

I was sure I read somewhere online where they had removed the locking diff from the car config.

My situation is that the rear diff has gone - after replacing the motor, it's still throwing errors around the sensor not aligned etc. It can't be reset. The local shop says that the clutch on the mechanism probably needs to be reset and rebuilt/replaced.

It functions fine as an open diff. I just hate seeing the error message.

GAP tool will not clear it as it Is a hard error.

I did try once to do this with the GAP tool, but an error with HDC Not Found came up after and scared the **** out of me...

I am sure you can, but did you follow procedure and recalibrate the rear locker?

Correct - this was tried. Failed.

I do not believe this to be an ECU issue either.

Can you try/did you try another diff lock ECU? Whats the clutch life reading?

GAP tool can check. I think its just a rough estimate though. But my thought is if the clutch life estimate is wicked low then maybe there is some threshold that will not allow calibration.

Not sure how. Maybe it was with a different tool. There was a thread involving calibration and replacement of the diff actuator. They discussed clutch life readings with one mentioned even with a totally new diff it was already at 70%.
