I used to pine for a "true" locker....then I was out wheelin' with an FJ Cruiser and they kept failing obstacles; had to back up, lock their diff, then complete the obstacle. I just walked over it. Sometimes maybe it's better to just let the computer figure it out! With my pride swallowed, I can just focus on my line and throttle application.

 

So this is embarrassing. I’m driving home from work the other day, the noise just ringing through the cab, and for some reason I rested my elbow on the passenger seat and hand of the roof. I was surprised to feel the roof vibrating like crazy, seemingly in tune with the horrible noise echoing through the cab. As soon as I got home, I took off the cheap roof rack the truck came with and hit the road. Noise gone!! Quite except for the whine of the tires all the way up to 70, very happy it doesn’t seem to be anything else making noise! I still hear a faint noise but I now I need new brakes, and it’s so faint I’m not concerned at the moment about it. Happy it was a simple thing!!

 

I have a massive roof rack. I hate how noisy the truck is with it, but I need it. The lr3 is super nice stripped down to stock, very quiet less the notorious sunroof rattles.
