Default Quick Release hitches and Wiring harnesses

First off, I need a hitch, so if anybody is thinking about selling your LR, please PM me and maybe we can do a deal that you might not see if you send the hitch along with the truck.

Secondly, has anybody installed a frame-mount hitch? Any problems with it? I don't go off-roading, so it hanging down off the bumper isn't a problem at all.

Third, should I go with the factory type harness, or with the ones that are half that price. I mean, wire is wire, so what do you experts say?

Default Suggest the factory wiring harness.

The link below has some material related to the hitch setup and the wiring. Some claim success with home built wiring harnesses, but I tend to favor the factory harness. It is more from fear however as there are so many glitches that the LR electronics seem to react to that the fewer variables one has to deal with when troubleshooting, the better.

With the factory setup, if you think you have a problem in the trailer wiring, you can just unplug the factory setup and all is back to pre trailer. That can help. Independents such as BPUtah sell the genuine factory wiring harness for quite a bit less than the dealer number so consider that as a possible source.

The Curt bolt on should work fine - depends a bit on your spare tire as an over sized spare and the Curt hitch can interfere with each other.
