Radio "Low Power Mode" triggered in traffic?!
Do you know what replacement you are going to get? I went through an ordeal of 3 alternators for various reasons before I finally got the correct one in my Volvo (the first rebuilt Bosch one I got was supposedly "bad" which ended up being the shop not knowing what the hell they were doing and the second generic one they put in didn't have the correct freewheeling pulley so would cause all sorts of strange power issues).

The two options I'm seeing are Denso ($209) and Bosch ($288) (I didn't even consider OEM, since it is probably ridiculously expensive and we all know how it fails). Both are rebuilt, but that's fine with me, brand new would probably be triple the price. Out of curiosity, anyone know the OEM? I'm going to guess Denso...

A reman OE Denso is like $229, so your price is great. delco/remy is $175ish? These are cheapest online prices which are similar to my wholesale cost at the shop.
I talked a guy down to $150 for the Remy - can't really beat that.
Some show a listing for a 7-groove pulley which I think is a cross-reference to the alternators for the supercharged sports and FFRRs - ours are going to be the 6-groove.
When I got the starter in (also remy I think) it came with a full bench test data sheet that showed RPM, torque output, and current consumption over the entire operating range. I'd imagine the alternator will be the same. I really don't want to do this more than once so hopefully it's a good part!
Care to elaborate on the RPM dependent noises before dying?
I'm praying this isn't the whirring whine I get on cold starts when RPMs climb above 2500 or so. Only does it till the engine warms up a bit, but sounds like something spinning that is not happy. Videos here:

For those who wish to change the trigger voltage at which the low voltage shutdown occurs re the 6CD-465 head unit, the first two links below provide the info. The third link is to more general data re the infotainment system.
