The radio seems to have fixed itself, but I wondered if anyone has had their radio effectively seem to mute itself. While the radio sound is now working again, for a few hours today, the sound from the AM, FM, and CD would not work. The bluetooth phone and the voice recognition system worked normally - that is I could speak to it and the system would respond back thru the radio speakers as ususal, but no sound would come from any radio stations or the CD. In other words, it was like I had pushed a mute button for the radio. The display on the radio displayed stations and volume as usual. To my knowledge, there is no radio mute button, is there? Has anyone had a similar experience? My LR3 is a 2005 HSE with the two phone buttons on the side of the steering wheel. About the only clue to a problem was this morning when I started the LR3, there was aquiet buzzing sound coming from somewhere, maybethe dash or under the seats,but the noise went away after maybe 30 seconds and I noted that the radio was not making any sounds - thought it was off, but the display was as if the radio was on.I stopped and restarted the engine a couple of times and also turned theradio off a few times andstill there wasno sound. Then I parked the vehicle for a half hour and when I came back and restarted it, the radio worked as usual.

 

Sounds like a software issue. Take it to the dealer to confirm.

 

I had the same thing dealer did a software update works fine now. If you dont it will keep dooing it randomly

 

I had that issue and they replaced the software and amplifier to fix it
